MailHub provides me with a much better 'connect' to iCal and makes quick work of filing emails into the hundreds of folders that I have set up. If I have to deal with something it either becomes an event or a 'to-do', everything else is filed in an appropriate folder, (or deleted).
By now, you all probably know about the hype surrounding a bunch of MAC lipliner shades. Kylie Jenner pandemonium has engulfed the globe, leading to a complete wipe out of MAC stocks, and I for one have not been happy about it. As my mum succinctly put it: ‘I don’t care about some silly 17-year-old, I need my lipliner!’ – Shelley, truer words have never been spoken.
We have both been long-standing wearers of Whirl for years, and when the MAC website decided to restock ALL of their most coveted shades, we ran to our laptops and made an order.
Without further ado, here are the ones I bought!
Soar – a deep, super-creamy mauve-brown, I adore Sore for over-drawing my lips and making them the centre of attention. This doesn’t dry my lips out at all and is the most opaque of the five shades I picked up. This would be a stunning shade for all skin colours.
Subculture – Subculture is the one shade I have a little trouble wearing. It’s lighter than my natural lip colour, but it’s such a pretty beige-taupe I can’t help but try to make it work! It’s very smooth, opaque and easy to apply, and would look lovely on super-pale skin. So far I’ve enjoyed wearing it with my Wet N Wild MegaLast Lip Colour in Bare It All (an amazing drugstore dupe for MAC’s Honey Love). Read my review of Bare It All and five other shades here.
Hover – the brownest of the bunch, Hover is a great neutral for deep skin tones and a nice shade to use if you’re rocking a dark lip but want to add some texture, or a slight ombre effect. This has a semi-creamy consistency and is beautiful all over the lip for an ultra-dark 90s nude.
Dervish – this is a vibrant pink-nude and very similar in colour to Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk, except Dervish has more mauve tones. It’s amazing all over the lip with a light gloss on top, and pairs beautifully with MAC’s Brave for a 90s-esque neutral yet polished look.
Whirl – the shade that started it all. I’ve worn Whirl since I was in my first year of University, when a friend recommended using liner as a lipstick – one night out later, and I was completely hooked. I’ve been through five or so pencils and my previous one was the size of a toothpick, so having a fresh one in my stocks is a rather reassuring feeling. It’s a gorgeous mauve shade that adds volume, depth and a subtle plumping effect that is seriously beautiful. The formula is slightly drying compared to the other four, but I counteract this by prepping my lips with a balm and then blotting with some translucent powder. It’s absolute perfection.
You can buy all of these shades here for £12.50.

Have a lovely weekend!
