• Go to Project Service Projects. Click the project you want to work on. In the bar across the top of the screen, select the down arrow next to the project name, and then click Office 365 Groups. Click Create Office 365 Group.
• To add Project Online to your existing Office 365 account: Log into your Office 365 account. On the Microsoft 365 admin center, choose Purchase Services on the left menu. Choose Add next to the Project Online plan that you prefer, and follow the on-screen instructions.
• This is the most robust of the Office 365 project tools. You can sync team calendars and other events with Outlook. You can also integrate your SharePoint Project site with Microsoft Project, the standalone project management software that certified Project Managers use. The downside to a Microsoft SharePoint Project Site can be costly.

Project for the web uses Office 365 groups for sharing. You can either share your project to an existing group that you own, or create a new one. Share to a group when you first assign a task The most common scenario in which you need to share to an Office 365 group is when you first need to assign a user to a task in your project.

An appropriate Project Plan license needs to be assigned to your Office 365 users to use Project for the web or Roadmap. However, users that are assigned certain Office 365 licenses are allowed to have view access to Project for the web and Roadmap.This will allow them to have read-only access to projects and roadmaps that are shared with them, without needing to be assigned a Project Plan license.

If your users need to be able to edit or create projects or roadmaps, you will need to purchase the appropriate Project Plan license and assign it to the user.

Office 365 view access applies to the following families of Office 365 suites and their education counterparts.

Office 365 Microsoft Project Download

Within each subscription there are two apps which can be seen from the Microsoft 365 Admin center.

• Project for Office (Plan X)
• Common Data Service

The 'Plan' in the title of Project for Office comes from the family of suite the app is included in. Both apps (from the same subscription) must be assigned to the user to view Project for the web or Roadmap.
